• Internet Marketing—5 Basics That Are Critical To Your Internet Business Income

    Gerrald Hendrix

Your potential internet business income obviously depends on many factors but some are extremely critical. The degree to which you ultimately succeed or fail is determined by the strength of your business’s foundation. Whether you are a successful marketer or someone considering an internet business income opportunity, this guide will prove useful.

Imagine your business as a building resting on a foundation of five columns. Each column will be named for one of the five basics for the sake of reference.

    Column #1: Desire.

Simply put, you must care about your business. Do you have an emotional connection to your business or is it just a source of income? Do you have a passion for its products or services? Do you desire to successfully bring value to the marketplace?

    Column #2: Motivation

What drives you? You must have a motivator of some kind. Of course, you want to successfully generate an internet business income. That is your business goal, but what purpose or cause motivates you to work for success?

    Column #3: Investment capital

If you are considering investing in an internet business income opportunity, look past the initial costs. Can you sufficiently fund your business? You may be able to afford the entry level, but can you afford to take your business to higher levels.

The top producing marketing methods are often very costly to maintain. As you advance many times you will also need to seek out specialized training and services. These usually have significant costs.

    Column #4: Risk

As in all businesses, there are no guarantees when it comes to generating an internet business income. Are you willing, emotionally, and able, financially, to assume risks?

There will be many times when you will have to make decisions without all the facts. Uncertain end results equal risk.

    Column #5: Commitment

Once you make a decision are you wiling to make it work? It’s easy for anyone to bear down and work when they’re excited. How about the down times? Are you willing to “stay in the trenches” and do whatever it takes?

Contrary to what you may hear, there are no secrets to unlock or reveal. An internet income business opportunity is just that; an opportunity. Your attention to the basics above and then doing what you know to do are the only secrets.

    In summary:

The business you are building, or considering building, will never be any stronger than its foundation. Just as columns provide a foundation for a building, the five basics are a foundation for your business. As a foundation they are absolutely critical to your internet business income.

  • Is An Online Home Based Business Franchise Really The Best Internet Business Idea?

    Gerrald Hendrix
    Gerrald Hendrix

An online home based business franchise basically allows the work at home marketer to sell a company’s product under license or agreement. The arrangement allows the seller to sell a product either exclusively in a particular area, or to operate a business that carries the company’s name. We will examine some of their features and benefits to see if it is really the best internet business idea.

    Why a franchise?

The franchise agreement in and of itself is not the benefit. The real benefits can be seen in a comparison of most non franchise businesses, on or offline, versus franchises.

    Basic franchise features and benefits:

    • Standardized business system. Every procedure from order to delivery is part of the system.
    • Identical system training for employees.
    • The company’s name brand and reputation.
    • Parent company advertising and marketing.

Most non franchise businesses are structured according to the owner’s desires and rarely have the standardization characteristic of the franchise. This can lead to inefficiency and wasted time and money.

It’s easy to see immediately the tremendous advantages through this comparison. A proven standardized system that can be duplicated and the franchise parent company’s established market presence is much more efficient and economical.

So, all I have to do is find a home based business franchise?

Once again, it’s not the franchise agreement alone. Many internet business opportunities are franchises and do not include all of the above features and benefits. All are not created equal.

Even then, the features and benefits listed above are just one part of the equation. Alone they may not be the overall qualifier for the best internet business idea.

Another critical qualifier is potential income. Potential must always be stressed. Some of the variables are the abilities of the marketer, the value of the product and the company’s compensation plan.

Are these hard, cold, indisputable facts that pertain to every conceivable online home business; of course not. Are there any exceptions; of course there are. The purpose here is to provide information to help you in your research.

Whether the business you are considering claims to be a franchise is not important. The emphasis is on the structure of the business and the advantages of the franchise model.

To summarize, in terms of return on investment in time and money, anyone seriously searching for internet business opportunities should consider a home based business franchise.

The most important thing is to do your due diligence, investigate different opportunities and find the business you want. Make your choice the best internet business idea for you.

  • How To Use Article Marketing Strategy As Free Website Promotion

    Gerrald Hendrix

Free website promotion may sound too good to be true. It might even remind you of the last time you tried something for nothing. Not to worry! A well executed article marketing strategy will deliver your targeted audience right to your website door. This article will reveal the basic components of an article campaign.

    An overview:

The concept is certainly not new. Since the invention of the printed word, messages in one form or another have been used to inform and influence the reader for some purpose.

In contrast to printed media with its distribution costs, the internet now allows you to distribute your message through online articles via free article directories.

Since your main objective is to move your audience to your website, your article must have a structure that both attracts and motivates the reader.

    Article marketing research:

We will assume that you have a particular niche that is in demand. You now want to target an audience relative to your product or service. Consider the following before you write your article.

    • Audience demographics.
    • Their problems or needs.
    • The solution or benefit your product or service offers.
    • The action they should take.
    • Information about yourself, your company, contact information, etc.

    Article construction:

This article will not deal with how to write an article. That information is available through an online search or an article directory help and support section.

You must know though, the points above, before you can effectively utilize an article marketing strategy. The organization and clarity of all components is critical.

Your author biography or resource must include a destination link to the website you are promoting. This should be a clearly defined path directly to your site or an information destination that will lead to your site.

A word to the wise is to keep everything informational. Some directories have very strict guidelines and many potential customers will reject an immediate hard sell.

    Article marketing automation:

Opinions differ considerably concerning automation tools. Article writing software tools may be helpful. You should expect to do considerable editing though to ensure a quality article.

Original article content is always best. Who should know your market and product better than you? Additional content may be obtained for your articles from article directories but make sure to observe all terms before you use. Never plagiarize!

Submission tools are not really necessary. Manual submission to the top article directories will be sufficient. Search Alexa article directory ranking for lists of top directories.

    Free website promotion:

Your article, after it is approved by the directory, will be indexed in the search engines. It will appear in the organic search results on the left hand side. Your position, among other factors, will depend upon your keywords, their popularity and competition. If you don’t have experience in keyword search, search online for free keyword tools.

Quality articles, overtime, may gain links from other sites and blogs and help you rise in index position.

    Article promotion:

Once your article is approved by an article directory, promote it on any of your appropriate blogs or websites. Many directories have widgets and RSS feeds that you can make available in as many locations as possible.

Social media is also a good platform to promote your articles, as well as forums. Many people will appreciate an article over a hard sell ad.

    Summary:

These are just a few basic insights to help you understand the value and potential of using an article marketing strategy for free website promotion. The best way to start is just to start. As you write you will improve, as you improve, you will see greater results.

  • Facebook Networking—Branding Yourself Online as Friend, Fan or Flake

    Gerrald Hendrix

One of the simplest and quickest ways of branding yourself online is through social media platforms such as Facebook. Originally designed by and for college students, this networking website now boasts more than 300 million active users worldwide. Unique options such as the capability to add friends, and fans, are especially useful. The following information will be some basics for beginners.

    Getting started:

    • Sign up at Facebook.com
    • Complete your profile information. (It’s not necessary to finish it all right now)
    • Add profile picture making sure it is a quality representation.
    • Begin to invite friends.

You can search for friends in numerous ways. Search for people by name, an industry, by interests, etc. You don’t have to personally know someone to invite them as a friend or accept a friend request.

It’s a good idea to check out a new friend’s profile just to be cautious. Also, use some reservation with your profile and information. It’s all viewable.

Hints: Facebook friends are for social networking and not for sales pitching. It’s O.K. to share valuable content of interest, but no selling. Save the business for your business page.

    Setting up a Business Page:

    • Sign up at Facebook.com/business
    • Complete all basic information. (It’s not necessary to finish it all right now)
    • Add logo or profile picture.
    • Suggest fans. (Business page friends)

Hint: To get started quickly, invite from your friend list where appropriate.

Even though your main focus is branding yourself online, that doesn’t mean you can’t have some fun. Just keep in mind your original purpose or you can spend a lot of time playing games.

The website is fairly easy to navigate and the more you use it and participate the more you will discover. Some applications will give you greater exposure and some won’t.

    Basic use and strategy:

    • Leave messages on friend’s wall.
    • Leave messages on your profile page and business page.
    • Post content: Blog posts, quotes, article links, videos, etc.
    • Join groups and Fan pages.
    • Brand yourself through shared content.

Content can be anything by anybody. It should, of course, be interesting and targeted. Your selection and sharing of content will help you brand yourself.

If done correctly you will create the perception of yourself as a knowledgeable leader and a valuable mentor. You will be the one that others want to befriend.

    Getting branded as a “flake”:

    • Repeating the same message constantly.
    • Sending messages every few seconds.
    • Using hard sell tactics.
    • Abusing friends and fans with any type of poor conduct.

Abusive “flakes” ruin their reputation and can easily be removed from friend or fan lists. It’s not that hard to be a friend or a fan. Just use a little common sense and consideration.

Branding yourself online doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s really just a matter of creating a perception by marketing who and what you are. Perception, as they say, is reality.

  • Twitter Marketing–How to Market Your Brand Without Getting Branded

    Gerrald Hendrix
    Gerrald Hendrix

To market your brand (you), as an online marketer, you will certainly want to consider the power of Twitter marketing. The potential to market a good creative personal profile to millions is powerful. Concise posts called tweets of up to 140 characters, amazingly, deliver information to followers in seconds. Your conduct can either build up your brand or get you branded. We will look at a few basics for beginners.

    Getting started:

In literally less than an hour you can log into twitter.com, register, set up your profile and begin to tweet. Make sure you use your name, company name or product related name. Upload an image that will enhance your profile and stay away from gimmicky names and inappropriate pictures.

Your user name and profile picture will speak volumes. Many potential followers are ignored if not blocked based on this first impression.

The site itself is very self explanatory so we won’t go into a lot of detail. Any custom backgrounds can be dealt with later as well as the many available applications.

    Adding followers:

Initially followers may be added by searching for people by name, industry, or interests. Another method is to follow those who will locate and follow you by your profile and/or tweets. This usually happens pretty quickly.

When someone follows you, you should follow them back. Then simply click on their followers and follow those you want to. The theory is their followers will have similar interests.

    Learning to brand:

To market your brand (you) distinctively and positively you will have to act differently. No matter what most say and do, Twitter is an information platform not a sales platform.

That doesn’t mean no selling. Give value first through information and valuable content. Various jokes, quotes, articles and tips are good. It’s O.K. to cover a wide range of topics. The object is to build relationships.

Start out sending 4-5 tweets per day and use one of them to lead to your sales offer. For best results take a follower to a source of information about you first. From that point, link to a website or capture page.

Remember you are marketing and not advertising. You should be giving valuable information to help others. Someone you help may eventually be ready to take you up on your offer.

Market your brand at every opportunity. Tweet updates concerning your, or other’s, blog posts, articles, videos, etc. As your marketing experience grows so will your content. When people see you or hear about you this is what they will remember. You are in effect branding yourself.

    Avoid being “branded”:

Many users, by their actions, brand themselves as spammers or sleazy salesmen. They will pitch you almost before they follow you. They are branded as such and this is not where you want to be. Your account may be suspended and your reputation damaged.

If all this is new to you, just get started and ignore the scores of related tools and services for right now. Some you may want to learn about later. Many, though, are redundant and/or unnecessary.

    In summary:

Twitter is a very fast, powerful, and effective resource tool to market your brand. Just remember to respect others and be responsible. It has the power not only to build up in the right hands, but tear down in the wrong.

  • How to Choose a Real Work at Home Business That’s Right for You

    Gerrald Hendrix

    Gerrald Hendrix

                                      Part I

Never in history, have more broke, scared and desperate people searched for ways to make money working online. Multiple thousands search frantically, daily, for a real work at home business. My main concern is what I perceive to be a lack of communication between those making a business offer and those searching. My personal opinion is that this factor leads to a high rate of failure.

Let’s begin by defining the use of “real” and “business”. For the purpose of this article they will be used to indicate a legitimate home business opportunity. Specifically, we will concentrate on marketing through internet methods.

Briefly, let’s touch on three forms of marketing and then move to the heart of the issue.

The three most common forms of internet marketing:

    • Affiliate Marketing.
    • Network/Multilevel Marketing.
    • Direct Sales Internet Marketing

Briefly, affiliate marketing is marketing products from a third party. Basic requirements will be a website, often included in the affiliate package, and a form of marketing. Sign up costs are usually minimal and compensation is a percentage commission.

Network marketing in multilevel marketing is very common. So much so the two terms are almost used interchangeably. Much of this marketing is accomplished online. I examined these previously, (please refer to the post). Sign up costs vary and there is a vast array of organization and compensation plans.

Last, and most important for the purpose of this article, is direct sales internet marketing and specifically those businesses marketing top tier products and/or services. These opportunities, I believe, are the least well communicated and understood.

Simply stated, most people have no idea what will be involved in their development as a top tier marketer. It’s only natural with no prior knowledge or similar experiences.

Typically these businesses require substantial initial costs. The income potential is often very lucrative, but there’s more. Marketing businesses of this type will have several vital areas of concern for the prospective marketer.

I have identified (10).  These areas will require you to possess or develop certain strengths.

    • Desire.
    • Mindset.
    • Work Ethic.
    • Mental Capability
    • Educational Background.
    • Attitude.
    • Communication.
    • Personality.
    • Insight/Vision.
    • Financial

    Part II

    (10) Vital Areas of Concern for the Successful Top Tier Internet Marketer

    Continued from Part I

It is important that you consider what your strengths are now, what you are willing to develop and continue to improve upon in these (10) vital areas.

    • Desire: Do you have a strong desire to learn and succeed in internet marketing. Are you passionate about your goals and your mission?
    • Mindset: Are you a positive forward thinker? Are you determined to succeed?
    • Work Ethic: Are you responsible, diligent, motivated, persistent and able to work independently?
    • Mental Capability: Are you of reasonable intelligence and able to reason clearly? Do you have mental strength and stability?
    • Educational Background: Are you sufficiently educated to comprehend basic language and math?
    • Attitude: Are you able to accept psychological challenges, financial risks and the inevitable temporary failures?
    • Communication: Are you reasonably able to express yourself orally and in writing?
    • Insight/Vision: Do you have a “why” for this business and its product and/or services? (Why you would want to be involved) Do you have a vision for the present and the future?
    • Personality: Do you have the personality traits required for marketing to the public?
    • Financial: Are you comfortable with the financial commitment and possible risks involved? Are you able to position yourself for success within the business?

Obviously no one can honestly say they have all areas covered 100%. Some of these areas may need to be developed and you will have to continue developing them.

These are the basic vital areas of concern if you consider top tier internet marketing. As you may have noticed many of them will also apply to any real work at home business.

The more you understand upfront, the less likely you will be to make the wrong decision and regret it later.

As you continue to search for a legitimate home business opportunity, investigate those of interest and use this as a guide.

  • Are You Forgetting These (3) Key Areas in Your Work at Home Business?

    Gerrald Hendrix

    Gerrald Hendrix

There are three key areas related to your work at home business that can easily slip through the cracks. If you have an internet marketing business or online network marketing business, you are susceptible.

In working hard to succeed, these three areas often suffer:

    • Your family time.
    • Your physical/mental health.
    • Your mission (spiritual health).

It’s extremely easy to lose track of time especially when working in a quiet office area alone. Several hours can slip by while your family, if they are there, is ignored.

If you are still working a job during normal hours, you have to work your business in the evenings. Your family doesn’t get to see much of Dad or Mom.

One suggestion would be to take a ten minute break every hour. Go out and spend a few minutes relaxing and chatting with your spouse and check on the kids. It’ll do you good and nobody will feel totally ignored.

Set aside part of a day to spend with your kids and take your spouse out for dinner regularly. This should be a time for just them. No business talk!

An internet marketing business or any work at home business can be very intensive. You need to relax body and mind regularly, and one healthy way is a brisk walk.

Morning, noon or night the exercise will do you good. Let’s face it; thinking, typing and talking doesn’t really burn too many calories.

It doesn’t take that much. Walking, flexing, it’s all good. Of course there’s always the gym if you’re really inspired!

But as important as these are, there is one more. What is your mission? Making money and buying material things are really just goals. Your mission should have more of spiritual quality.

What will your success mean to others? How will your life benefit others and help change their lives? Your mission may even be a more powerful motivator than your goals.

Focusing on your mission will give you a deeper conviction. Now your will to succeed, and become even more successful, is for a bigger reason than yourself.

Don’t forget to be grateful for all success!

Make these three key areas priorities. The healthier and happier you and your family are, the healthier your business will be and the happier you will be with it.

  • Do You Really Know “Why” You Are In Business?

Strange question? Not Really! Remarkably, a large percentage of business owners or entrepreneurs can not clearly articulate the “why” of their business.

Why they are in business. Why it’s meaningful to them. Why it’s important.

The “why” of your business is the heart and soul of your business. Your “why” is your goal, your reason or your purpose, and the way you feel about it.

Most would probably answer income, money, wealth, etc. Next question; why is that important? One more question; why will that make a difference?

Oh, money will buy “things and dreams” and give you “options”, you say. Now we’re getting somewhere.

O.K., why will those things make any difference? See where we’re going with this?

Since this is kind of one sided allow me to suggest a few possibilities:

    • That new car or SUV and the pride of ownership and joy of driving it.
    • The world trip you promised your spouse or partner and the enjoyment of traveling together.
    • How you feel when you look at that brand new house that you were able to provide for your family.
    • The secure quality of life now and in the future such as the kids’ education and your retirement.
    • Your life, on your terms, and you’re in control.

The list could go on an on and will certainly differ from person to person. The point is your “why” has got to be more than income, etc. Your “why” must be what drives you, your passion.

As a business owner you probably know the how, what, when and where of your business. You undoubtedly work very, very hard. Why do you do it?

Your “WHY” must be bigger than your business!

Take some time and think about it. Ask yourself, “Do I really know why I’m doing this”?

Make sure your “why” is a BIG ONE and hold on to it!

Hints: Tell your family, write it down, read it and think about it every day!
